Boot Sizing Guide
How do you know what size to order?
We always recommend being guided by your normal Australian shoe size. If you are not sure then check the size of your dress shoes/boots and work off that. Sneakers are not recommended as they are often inaccurate and not as fitted as a dress shoe. Alternatively, if possible, ask a shoe shop to size your foot for you. We stock most of our boots in full/whole and half-sizes to get the fit as close as possible.
.
What do the letters after the size mean?
The letters represent the width of the boot. Australians generally have wider feet, so we choose to stock wider widths where possible. If you’re desired width isn’t shown, get in contact with us as we may be able to special order it for you.
.
For ladies, we stock M and W:
M - a medium width
W - a wider width
For men, we stock M, W and EE:
M - a medium width
W - a wider width
EE – an extra wide width
Trying them on for the first time and what if they don’t fit?
When you try them on for the first time, do it on a carpet so as not to damage the sole. Sometimes it helps to put a plastic bag over your foot for it to easily slide into the new pair of boots. Remember that with leather boots, as you continue to wear the boots they will stretch slightly and soften over time. They should fit snug but not uncomfortable across the instep when they are new.
If they feel comfortable but firm on the foot then that should be OK as the upper will relax. Don’t worry if there is slippage at the heel as that is normal in a new pair of boots. As you wear them in and the boots relax to the shape of your feet, that slippage goes away. However, if your toes are pressing against the end of the shoe or there is too much gap at the heel then you probably need to get a different size.
.
Unless they are a special order item, we will happily offer exchange of a different, as long as the product you return is in the same condition as you received them, in the original packaging and all packed and protected for posting.
.
Please Note
This sizing guide is not 100% accurate and is to be used as a guide only. If you know your normal shoe size then that is your best guide. If you are uncertain, it is a good idea to have your feet sized in a shoe shop using a foot measuring device. Please contact us if you have any questions.
